About this programme
The PhD Programme in Technologies for Cultural Heritage (T4C) is the consolidation of the Doctorate by the same name that started in 2018 thanks to funding from the European Commission (H2020-MSCA-COFUND) and the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation. Now the T4C Doctorate is fully funded by the University of Torino.
The aim of this PhD Programme is building up the next generation of Cultural Heritage professionals able to develop technological solutions in the field of diagnostics, protection, restoration, valorisation, and communication of cultural heritage.
It is an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary programme that involves humanities, digital sciences, physics, biology, chemistry and Earth sciences.
The Scientific Board includes University of Torino researchers in these fields and members from other universities and non-academic institutions.
The research project of each PhD Candidate is supported by a team of Supervisors, appointed by the Scientific Board, who guide the necessary interdisciplinary approach.
The Departments involved in the program are the following: Historical Studies; Physics; Chemistry; Life Sciences and System Biology; Computer Sciences; Earth Sciences. Each PhD student, while pursuing an interdisciplinary approach, is affiliated with one of these departments.
