Phd thesis

“Research for the Elaboration of a Normed Protocol for Digitizing and Using of Historical Photographs from Monuments as a Tool for Information and Conservation Monitoring in the Absence of Verbal Descriptions. The Case Study of Pre-Islamic Iran. “

The objective of the project is to develop a standardized methodological protocol for the digitization and annotation of historical photographs related to archaeological monuments, focusing primarily on pre-Islamic Iran. A significant aspect of the project is the utilization of digital tools, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Heritage Building Information Modeling (HBIM), to enhance the accessibility and usability of these images for research and conservation purposes. The research will concentrate on the photographic archives of Persepolis, aiming to create a structured framework for the description of images, thereby contributing to the understanding and preservation of Iran’s cultural heritage.
